Random Access Memories - Daft Punk

Daft Punk’s first LP in eight years ‘Random Access Memories’ lands May 17th here in Australia (May 21st in the US) and they’ve dropped an awesome sample of the track “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.

The groove, the vocals, the beat, and the baseline are purely sublime. Instead of going completely with synthesizers, the band have pulled in a number of musical collaborations with live artists from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s for the new LP. It sounds like a great mix of new and old and having been a fan of Daft Punk from day one, I cannot wait to put this album through the speakers in a month’s time.

The Time to Adapt Is Now

The Time to Adapt is Now

Trent Walton recently touched upon changing process when it comes to teamwork and collaboration in a multi-device world in his recent blog post — ‘Reorganisation’. Walton, who runs the successful three-man design and branding outfit Paravel points out the waterfall approach to building for the web is no longer an option and that there needs to be a shift in the way talent, resources and management go about the process.

Mornington

Lyns and I decided to take a mid-week day trip down to the Mornington Peninsula over my Easter break. A great break from city life and always refreshing to get some ocean air.

I took the DSLR camera down and decided to post some photos here all with Creative Commons licenses so you can do whatever you please with them.

2013 Anticipated Films

Films, films, and more films.

Despite being more a fan of cable TV shows these days (Game of Thrones - Season Three starting in a few days! Hells yeah!), there are a handful of potentially great films on the horizon this year. Those listed below are not big-budget sequels (Okay a couple are) or comic book franchises (okay one is) but for the most part, the following films represent some potential gems which have been getting a lot of early buzz from various film festivals around the world. This list is by no means complete and just a personal collection I find that preaches to my tastes (which hopefully you will find both eclectic and varied).

I left off most comic book franchises and larger popcorn flicks because I’ll probably see those too. However, the following have a stronger potential to be in my Top 5 for 2013.
